WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Doctor Doom #10 by Christopher Cantwell, Salvador Larroca, Guru-eFX, & VC's Cory Petit, on sale now.

Some of the most powerful items in the Marvel Universe have had entire wars fought over them, but Marvel just quietly confirmed which one is actually the most powerful, capable of erasing the others with ease. Given the chance to grab any weapon from a parallel reality's greatest armory of Marvel's greatest weapons, Doctor Doom uses the Ultimate Nullifier to destroy the rest, and the entire reality around him in Doctor Doom #10.

Doctor Doom's attempts to contain an expanding black hole resulted in his own near-death but rather than be destroyed, he was simply blasted into a parallel reality. There, Doom gets the chance to meet the man he's been having visions of throughout the series in a version of Victor who overcame his pride and became the hero the world needed him to be. Victor, along with a still-alive Blue Marvel, is welcomed into the home of this heroic Doom. The heroic Victor tries to convince the Earth-616 Doctor Doom that he can be like him and overcome his inner darkness and in doing so, become a good man. It just requires that Doctor Doom admit his mistakes and move past them.

While revealing just how powerful and at peace this reality has become, Victor is revealed to have collected some of the universe's most powerful weapons and artifacts, all in the name of mutual disarmament across the galaxy. This includes the Darkhold, the Ten Rings of the Mandarin, All-Black the Necrosword, the Cosmic Cube, the Casket of Ancient Winters, the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, the Nega-Bands, the Evil Eye of Avalon, the Infinity Stones, and the Ultimate Nullifier. Each of these weapons is contained within a single case in Victor's home, one of the Marvel multiverse's most powerful armories, and in the hands of a Doctor Doom who chooses not to use them and instead merely keep them out of the hands of other threats.

Victor even seems to be getting through to Doom, arguing that Doom could have easily repaired the damage to his face but chooses not to, as proof of how cruel the world has been to him. However, the breaking point is when Victor explains how the ultimate final step to redemption for Doom is overcoming his hate for Reed Richards, and learning to forgive him for any perceived sleights. He even calls Doom a "ridiculous" man in garish armor, using his villainy to hide his fears from the world. This is too much for Doom to handle who instead of embracing change, lashes out. He murders Victor with a single blast to the face before Blue Marvel can rush into the room. As Blue Marvel begs Doom to reconsider his actions, Doom reaches into the trophy case and grabs a single item: the Ultimate Nullifier.

Doom quickly activates it and destroys not only every single reality-bending artifact in that room with him, but the entirety of the whole reality around him. Thanks to his own brilliance and power, Doom can actually use the power of the Nullifier to save himself and Blue Marvel, returning them to Earth-616 as the device destroys all things that ever existed within the noble Victor's reality, including his family. On top of being a new low for the Latverian tyrant, this also suggests that Doctor Doom rightly considers the Ultimate Nullifier to be the greatest source of destructive power in the galaxy.

Introduced during "The Coming of Galactus" by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the device can "nullify" anything aimed at it, destroying the target (and often the wielder as well) and removing them from existence. Rather than utilizing any of the other tools at his disposal, it only took a single press of the Nullifier to wipe all the rest from existence. This seems like the ultimate proof of just how powerful the device is and how good it is that before he fully returned to villainy and his lust for power, his servant Victorious confirmed with Nova that the Ultimate Nullifier has been returned to Galactus and far away from Doom himself.
