Doc Shaner's new Superman art showed the Man of Steel rocking the perfect dad gift. The artwork -- which Shaner posted to his Twitter account -- featured Superman wearing a knitted holiday sweater that had the iconic "S" symbol plastered on the chest and smaller ones filling the empty spaces. The gift-givers -- Lois Lane and Jonathan Kent, with Supergirl and Krypto watching in the background -- were just as excited for the hero to proudly don his new gift. "Dad gifts," Shaner simply Tweeted alongside the image, allowing his artwork to do the talking.RELATED: Superman's Most RIDICULOUS Toy Probably Saved His Life

In a follow-up Tweet, Shaner offered some background information on the holiday House of El art and what inspired him to draw it. He confirmed it was not his end-of-year piece -- which he does annually -- but something he needed to do as he mourned the recent death of his grandfather. "This isn't my annual year-end thing. I got about halfway through drawing that when my grandfather passed last week and I decided I needed very badly to draw Superman," he explained. "The other thing will be along eventually, but I don't know when."

Doc Shaner is a DC exclusive artist, with some of his works including Future Quest, The Terrifics, Man of Steel, Supergirl and Doom Patrol. He is currently collaborating with Tom King and Mitch Gerads on Strange Adventures, which was first released in March 2020.
