One of the best parts of Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition is how it empowers players to create unique characters for different campaigns and adventures. The game's basic mechanics and rules are incredibly flexible, with Tasha's Cauldron of Everything's customizable origins and One D&D's new approach to backgrounds making it even easier for players to create just about anyone. However, while customization is the name of the game, there's a lot that goes into making a player character build viable. For instance, whether using point buy, standard array or manually rolling, it's important to allocate the six core stats in a way that focuses on what a build is going to use.
Whether you're looking to create the strongest possible build for a certain subclass or you plan to recreate a beloved character like Batman or Samus, CBR has plenty of guides to help players create the PCs of their dreams.

How to Build Different D&D Subclasses
Dungeons & Dragons offers 13 classes (14 if you count Critical Role's Blood Hunter), each of which comes with a variety of subclasses. Each one puts a unique spin on the class' core concept and mechanics, from Fighters who can cast spells to Wizards who are skilled with weapons. While not all of the options are equally balanced or powerful, each has the potential to create a fun and flavorful character so long as the player can come up with a strong backstory and build.

How to Build Popular Characters in D&D
Whether a player wants to simply imagine what their favorite fictional character would be like in D&D or they want to role-play a character inspired by them, 5e's mechanics offer plenty of opportunities to build PCs with the abilities of anyone from Darth Vader to Naruto. While they may not always be one-to-one matches and (in some cases) a player will need to choose between a more powerful build and staying true to the source material, these kinds of builds can be lots of fun to consider or play.
