Digital comics platform ComicBlitz has announced an exclusive digital distribution deal with Daryl Makes Comics, the comics publisher founded by hip-hop legend Darryl "DMC" McDaniels of Run-D.M.C.. The deal makes ComicBlitz the exclusive digital home for past DMC Comics releases, starting with the 2014 "DMC" #1 graphic novel, along with as-yet unannounced future digital-exclusive releases.

Daryl Makes Comics joins comics publishers including Top Cow, Valiant Entertainment, Dynamite Entertainment, Abrams ComicArts, Action Lab Entertainment, Zenescope Entertainment and Aspen Comics on the ComicBlitz roster. The platform launched last October as an all-you-can read digital comics subscription service, with a current price of $9.99 a month. Launched as an iOS app, ComicBlitz is currently not available as an Android app, but last month the service introduce a universal web reader for use of the platform on computers and various smartphones and tablets.

Following the lead of all-you-can-consume services like Netflix, the digital comics subscription service space is something of a growing market, with leading digital comics distributor comiXology launching comiXology Unlimited in May, offering a selection of titles from nearly all major publishers other than Marvel or DC Comics, for a $5.99 monthly fee. Launched in 2007, Marvel Unlimited stands as the veteran in the game, with thousands of Marvel Comics accessible for $9.99 a month.

Launched in 2014 with Editor-In-Chief Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez and Senior Editor Riggs Morales, McDaniels' Daryl Makes Comics has focused on short story anthology releases, with DMC himself serving as publisher. Creators contributing to DMC Comics thus far have included David Walker, Amy Chu, Greg Pak, Damion Scott, Tula Lotay, Juan Doe, Shawn Crystal, Felipe Smith and Jeff Stokely.
