Excited for the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, costume designer Mikaela Holmes set to work on creating a leather purse that not only resembled the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy but could hold a bit of junk itself.

At Instructables, she shares her step-by-step process for creating the stylish Millennium Falcon purse, which boasts such wonderful accents as LED lights to illuminate the ship's hyperdrive module and, better still, a radar-dish button.

"As I recreated my own version of this beloved vessel, which so embodied the heart of the original movies," Holmes writes, "I think I was also channeling all of my childish excitement and wonder into my creation, willing this new incarnation to capture some of the magic of those first adventures."
