Some comic relationships are wonderful. Other relationships should have never been created. DC is full of iconic relationships. Clark Kent and Lois Lane are one of the most popular comic relationships of all time. Unfortunately, comics are also full of inappropriate relationships. There are also some relationships that are downright disturbing.

A variety of inappropriate relationships have been revealed in comics. Everything from abuse to a relationship with an underaged girl have appeared in DC's printed pages. Some of these are probably relationships DC wishes fans would just forget. These disturbing romances can sometimes get lost between the forgotten relationships and well-known pairings.

10 Jade Nguyen and Roy Harper

Jade Nguyen is a French-Vietnamese girl who is possibly better known as Cheshire. She was a long-term enemy of the Teen Titans. Roy Harper, also known as Speedy, is a member of the Teen Titans and goes undercover to gain information from Cheshire.

He quickly falls in love with her. He then leaves her to avoid having to bring her to justice. Their relationship results in the birth of their daughter, Lian. Jade leaves Lian in Roy's custody. Their relationship is doomed from the beginning. The fact that they fight on opposite sides causing them nothing but heartache.

9 Tim Drake and Stephanie Brown

Tim Drake was the third Robin. Stephanie Brown was the daughter of a supervillain who was inspired to become a hero. The two of them had a very odd relationship at the beginning. Tim wasn't allowed to reveal his real name to his girlfriend. It can't be easy to build a relationship with someone when you can't even tell them who you are.

Still Stephanie and Tim continued to date, even after she found out she was pregnant with someone else's baby. These two teens went on to be a popular couple, but started off on uneven ground. Tim knew everything about her while Stephanie knew practically nothing.

8 Carol Ferris and Hal Jordan

Falling in love with Hal Jordan was detrimental for Carol Ferris. Hal Jordan is one of the best known Green Lanterns. Carol becomes a member of the Star Sapphires, which is a similar organization to the Green Lanterns.

Carol's love for Hal is used against her. She is repeatedly forced to fight Hal. Carol's love for Hal ultimately transforms her into a DC villain. Their love ends up being toxic since Carol ends up losing the life she would have had if she'd never met Hal.

7 Kyle Rayner and Alexandra DeWitt

Alex DeWitt finds Kyle Rayner is an immature and annoying. However, when he becomes a Green Lantern, she decides to help him train to use his powers.

Kyle hasn't been a hero for very long when he returns home to find that a villain has murdered Alexandra. In an iconic moment in comics, the murdered woman is stuffed into a refrigerator. The murder has a detrimental effect on Kyle's psyche. This relationship ends with the murder of an innocent woman.

6 Dick Grayson and Helena Wayne

Dick Grayson is the adopted son of Bruce Wayne. Helena is the biological daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle. This version of Huntress and Robin grew up together, almost like siblings, on an alternate earth.

While the two aren't biologically related, this couple was a bit too closely related in the eyes of many fans. After all, Dick Grayson is often seen as Bruce's son and was even adopted by Bruce in some incarnations of their story. They do make a good team when it comes to fighting crime.

5 Sandra Wu-San and David Cain

She was born Sandra, but she's better known as Lady Shiva. David is a member of the League of Assassins. After David murders Sandra's sister, he forces her to be in a relationship with him.

David coerces Sandra into having a baby with him. Their child, Cassandra Cain, ultimately became a hero. David lead Sandra down a darker path. As Lady Shiva, Sandra became an assassin. Sandra's life is changed for the worst by her connection to David Cain.

4 Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul

Bruce Wayne is a popular superhero. Talia al Ghul is the daughter of Ra's al Ghul and a member of the League of Assassins. Talia has long had a fascination with the Dark Knight.

At one point, Talia decides to drug Bruce and force him to father a child with her. Talia basically treats Bruce as a horse that needs to be breed. The two of them produce as son, Damian Wayne, but Bruce wasn't exactly a willing participant.

3 Hal Jordan and Arisia

Arisia is a Green Lantern like Hal. She first became a Green Lantern as a teenager. She is originally from the planet Graxos IV, but she moves to earth to be with Hal.

The problem is that Arisia was only 13-years-old. She uses her ring to age herself up to 20. After they break up, an accident transforms her back into a 13-year-old. She goes to Hal for help and begins to slowly recover her memories. Then she is murdered by the same person who killed Alexandra DeWitt.

2 Bruce Wayne and Barbara Gordon

Bruce Wayne is Batman, and Barbara Gordon is Batgirl. Barbara's father has long been an ally of Batman. When the two began a relationship, fans recoiled in disgust.

They are both members of the Bat Family. Many people viewed Batman as a father figure to Batgirl. She also had a well-known relationship with Bruce's adopted son, Dick Grayson. Their deeply disturbing relationship is often seen as a massive mistake. Batman and Batgirl should never have gotten together.

1 Harleen Quinzel and the Joker

Harleen Quinzel was a psychiatrist. When she got a job at Arkham Asylum, she was given the Joker as a patient. Her life takes a drastic turn when she falls in love with the psychotic clown.

As Harley Quinn, she follows Joker's orders. He treats her horribly, mostly abusing her. Eventually, she comes to realize that Joker doesn't actually love her. Once she reaches that point, she's ruined the life she'd once had. No one will ever see her as a professional again.
