Avengers Campus, the Marvel-themed region of Disney California Adventure, is slated to open sometime in 2021.

After a delay of more than six months because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Orange County Register broke the news, citing the D23 Disney fan club. Last March, Disney set the Avengers Campus opening for July 18, 2020. However, as the pandemic began to take hold in the United States, theme parks and other attractions in California were closed, and the opening was pushed back indefinitely. Despite the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Southern California, it appears the attraction is planning to finally open this year.

The Avengers Campus attraction covers six acres, presenting park guests with a trip through a superhero training facility -- albeit one in an alternate universe in which the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame didn't happen.

Park guests can meet and greet Marvel heroes such as Black Panther, Iron Man, Thor, Captain Marvel and Black Widow. The outdoor Doctor Strange show uses projections and special effects. The Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure dark ride has visitors helping the wall-crawler capture spider-bots. And Pym Test Kitchen is the facility's restaurant, with an adjacent cocktail bar, Pym Tasting Lab.

It is not known if Avengers Campus will launch when Disney California Adventure is allowed to reopen or whether it will have a rollout later in the year.
