The name of the game at the Theme Parks and Resorts panel at D23 Expo was "immersion," including the surprise announcement of an eerily Westworld-flavored Star Wars hotel, coming to Disney World in Orlando.

The hotel will feature a completely immersive, multi-day Star Wars experience for visitors, including costumes, unique stories, and windows that feature views out into space rather than scenic Florida. Disney's Bob Chapek explained that guests at the resort will be able to integrate their experience at the hotel with the stories taking place within the park's Star Wars land -- now officially named "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge."

"Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" is set to open in 2019, with Anaheim's iteration of the expansion coming before Disney World's -- likely because the addition of the hotel to Disney World will require more time to construct.

Guests, hotel stayers or otherwise, will be able to experience two unique Star Wars attraction in both Anaheim and Orlando, with Disney's imagineers teasing unique outcomes for the Millennium Falcon ride that will effect character interactions for the rest of their stay at the park. Fans may find themselves on the list of a bounty hunter at the cantina, or flush with Galactic credits to be spent at the local trading post on collectibles and snacks -- including some "farm fresh" blue milk, if they're brave enough to give it a try.
