Some of the most famous animated films of all time, such as Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, and The Lion King, have been made by Disney. One of the things that a lot of Disney movies have in common is that the protagonists are very likable. Audiences have become big fans of heroes like Peter Pan and Hercules, but that doesn't mean that they are always the most entertaining characters in their movies.

7 Jafar Was Greedy For Power (Aladdin)

Jafar from Aladdin

Jafar is the main villain from Aladdin and one of Disney's most popular antagonists. Wanting to rule over Agrabah, he hoped to marry Jasmine and sent the titular hero to receive the Genie's lamp, only to betray him. Aladdin became the Genie's master and, due to him falling for Jasmine, he and Jafar became enemies. As Jasmine was falling for Aladdin, Jafar captured him and believed that he had sent him to his death, but Aladdin was saved by Genie.

After Aladdin revealed that Jafar had been brainwashing the Sultan, Jafar had Iago steal the Genie's lamp and used his wishes to gain as much power as he could. He first became the Sultan, followed by a sorcerer, and lastly, a genie himself, allowing Aladdin to trap him in the lamp and send him far away.

6 Frollo Is One Of Disney's Most Vile Villains (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)

Judge-Claude-Frollo

Frollo is one of the vilest villains from any Disney movie ever made, being from The Hunchback of Notre Dame and stealing the spotlight for just how sinister he is compared to other antagonists. Rather than being incredibly dramatic, funny, or villainous in a child-friendly way, Frollo is a truly terrible person.

He has committed horrible crimes compared to other antagonists, making him a great character for those that want to see how far Disney would go to make a despicable villain. Many Disney villains have a fun song that fans like a lot, and while he has a song as well, "Hellfire," it is much darker than songs like "Be Prepared" or "Oogie Boogie's Song," showing just how disturbing of an antagonist Frollo is.

Goob may not be as popular as most of the other villains on this list, but he's definitely one of the funniest and most likable antagonists among Meet the Robinsons' fans. After he lost a baseball game, he blamed his roommate, Lewis, as he had kept him awake the night before. He grew to hate Lewis for it and plotted his revenge as Lewis became a successful inventor.

However, none of his plans were truly evil, until he met Doris, a hat that Lewis invented that turned against him. After he learned that Doris would betray him, Lewis told her that he'd never make her, causing her to be defeated, and for Goob to become Lewis' friend again. A lot of people ended up liking Goob more than Lewis.

The Lion King's antagonist, Scar, is one of the most fun Disney villains while also being incredibly evil. He set up his own brother, Mufasa, to die and blamed it on his nephew, who he encouraged to run away, all so he could become king of the Pride Lands.

Once he achieved this goal, he was a terrible ruler, treating the other lions horribly. Manipulative and selfish, it's no wonder why fans were so entertained by him, especially when he sang "Be Prepared," one of the most popular songs in not only the movie itself, but from any Disney film ever made.

While the majority of Halloween Town's citizens meant no harm, Oogie Boogie had other plans. Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty

Maleficent is the villain from Sleeping Beauty. She is considered by many to be the best Disney antagonist as she is the Mistress of All Evil. At the beginning of the film, Maleficent cursed Aurora to die on her 16th birthday. However, Merryweather was able to change the curse so that Aurora would fall asleep until she was kissed by someone who truly loved her, who ended up being Prince Phillip.

Years later, Maleficent tricked Aurora into making the curse become a reality, and captured Prince Phillip. While all of the terrible things she did made her outshine characters like Aurora and Prince Phillip, the thing that makes her stand out the most compared to other villains is her ability to transform into a dragon. At the end of the film, she fought Prince Phillip in her dragon form and, with the help of the fairies, he defeated her.
