A CBR exclusive look at the 4K SteelBook for Disney's Cinderella.

Based on Charles Perrault's 1697 fairy tale of the same title, Cinderella is the 12th animated film produced by Walt Disney Productions. The musical fantasy film was released in theaters in 1950, featuring the voices of Ilene Woods, Eleanor Audley, Verna Felton, Rhoda Williams, James MacDonald, Luis van Rooten and Don Barclay. Cinderella was a critical and commercial success upon release, becoming Disney's biggest hit since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). The film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress in 2018. A live-action adaptation directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Lily James (Downton Abbey) in the title role was released by Disney in 2015.

Other animated titles that will be released as a Blu-ray SteelBook include Pixar films Coco, Toy Story and Cars (June 6), the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film Iron Man (Sept. 5) and Disney classics The Little Mermaid, Moana, The Lion King and Aladdin (Oct. 3). The latter four are considered by many fans to be among Disney's best-animated films ever. The SteelBook release for The Little Mermaid will become available a few months after the film's live-action remake opens in theaters and welcomes a whole new generation under the sea. A live-action remake of Moana is also in early development with fan-favorite actor Dwayne Johnson set to return as Maui. Disney previously released live-action remakes of The Lion King and Aladdin in 2019.
