Disney Recalls Toy Story 4 Forky Toys Due To Choking Hazard


Disney announced a recall of tens of thousands of Toy Story 4 plushies due to a potential choking hazard.

So far, more than 80,000 toys have been sold in the U.S. and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has advised consumers to remove the Forky toy from children and return it to Disney retailers or Disney Theme Parks for full refunds.

The Forky plushy, manufactured in China, stands at 11 inches and possesses poseable arms, a base and two googly eyes. The risk is due to the way the eyes were attached, as they were sewn onto the body and are reportedly likely to fall off.

According to the official Disney announcement, the manufacturing defect "could potentially pose a choking hazard to children under 3." The statement went on to express, "nothing is more important to us than the safety of our guests" before urging parents to take appropriate action.

The toys were sold from several outlets, including Amazon. The defective toys possess one of four tracking numbers that can be found with the attached label: FAC-024868-18338, FAC-024868-19032, FAC-024868-19060 and FAC-024868-1909.

As of yet, no injuries have been reported and Disney stated that toy owners can contact the company by calling 866-537-7649 or by emailing personal.shoppers@shopDisney.com.
