Disney Reveals Kingsman Prequel Title, Release Date

Matthew Vaughn's third Kingsman film will be titled The King's Man and release in February 2020.

Disney revealed the news in a press release along with a short plot summary and logo for the film, which you can see and read below.

As a collection of history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in THE KING'S MAN, directed by Matthew Vaughn, coming to theaters February 2020.

The plot summary is relatively in-descript in terms of details about the film. However, the movie is reportedly set during World War I, and this new information seems to indicate that is indeed the case. Series creator Mark Millar gave a specific date last year, saying the movie would take place in 1918.

Among those currently known to be involved with the film are Rhys Ifans , Charles Dance, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Matthew Goode, Gemma Arterton, Djimon Hounsou, Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, Robert Aramayo and Daniel Bruhl. Liam Neeson and Harris Dickinson are also reportedly in the film.

Based on Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons' comic The Secret Service, the first two Kingsman movies, starring Taron Egerton and Colin Firth, made over $800 million at the box office.
