Disney+ has ordered an anthology series based on R.L. Stine's BOOM! Studios graphic novel series Just Beyond.
The streaming platform has ordered eight episodes of the horror-comedy from The Lego Batman Movie writer Seth Grahame-Smith. Along with Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg, Stephen Christy and Ross Richie and Stine will serve as executive producers.
Grahame-Smith is familiar with the horror-comedy genre through his novels Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. He has also written films such as Dark Shadows and The Saint. He
"I grew up watching Twilight Zone reruns and the original Amazing Stories with my parents," Grahame-Smith stated. "I've always wanted to make a genre anthology series that families could enjoy together, and do it in a way that delivered for kids and adults alike. R.L. Stine has been a part of millions of childhoods, and Disney+ has already proven itself as a place that knows how to make high-quality shows for the whole family. I couldn't be more excited to be working with both of them."
At this time, no casting information or production start date has been announced. The horror series is expected to begin streaming on Disney+ in fall 2021.
