The circle of life continues, with Disney unveiling the first clip from its upcoming animated TV movie "The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar," which follows the adventures of the son of Simba from 1994's "The Lion King."

Attendees at this weekend's D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, will have a chance to watch a special preview of the movie, set to air in November on the Disney Channel ahead of a new animated series that premieres in January on Disney Junior.

Announced last year, the movie (and subsequent television series) stars Max Charles ("The Amazing Spider-Man," "The Strain") as the voice of Kion, who leads The Lion Guard, traditionally comprised of the bravest, strongest and fastest animals of the Pride Lands. However, Kion breaks with tradition and instead recruits his friends: Bunga (Joshua Rush), a blustery honey badger; Ono (Atticus Shaffer), a smarty-pants egret; Fuli (Diamond White), a confident cheetah; and Beshte (Dusan Brown), a friendly hippo.

"The Lion Guard" also features the return of James Earl Jones and Ernie Sabella as Mufasa and Pumbaa, as well as Kevin Schon as the voice of Timon from "The Lion King's Timon and Pumbaa" TV series, plus new additions Rob Lowe as Simba and Gabrielle Union as Nala.
