Disney Recruits Jon Favreau For Magic Kingdom

Even if Tiki isn't based on the Enchanted Tiki Room at Disney World, that doesn't mean that The Walt Disney Company is done creating movies based on their most prominent rides. In fact, they're upping the ante for an upcoming project by booking a trip to the Magic Kingdom.

Disney has hired Iron Man director Jon Favreau to get behind the lens for a film that sees the most famous attractions at Disney World coming to life, according to Deadline. There's no shortage of rides and attractions to adapt, of course, and one has to wonder if Favreau's going to have the opportunity to unite with Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow.

But very little is known definitively about the film, other than the fact that it's apparently in the same vein as the Night at the Museum series. Disney's Magic Kingdom was first set up two years ago with a draft written by Battlestar Galactica creator Ron Moore. But a new writer will be tasked with tackling the script again, this time under Favreau's supervision.
