Once upon a time, princesses were seen as little more than just the damsels in distress waiting for their prince to rescue them. That is no longer the case. Princesses have proven they are competent and independent in recent years. No show exemplifies this than She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.

With the Horde plotting to conquer Etheria, all that stands in their way is the Princess Alliance, fittingly lead by the princesses of different nations. These girls aren't afraid to take to the battlefield and fight Horde soldiers, unlike the average Disney princess. Among the members of the official Disney Princess lineup, some would succeed in the rebellion while others wouldn't stand a chance. These are the five Disney princesses that could work in She-Ra's Princess Alliance and five who should stay home.

10 Stay Home: Snow White

Snow White

Starting with the first Disney princess, Snow White just isn't fit for the Princess Rebellion. Her command over animals is impressive but birds and deer aren't enough to handle the Horde's armies and tanks. Her first time running away from home proved she isn't good with exploration and she is easily deceived as proven when she receives the poison apple. She's likely to run away as soon as she runs into any Etherian wildlife or get manipulated by Shadow Weaver or Catra. Her best bet would be to help behind the scenes.

9 Belong: Merida

Brave's Merida competing in an archery competition

Merida refuses to let anyone dictate her life and is willing to fight for her independence. Thanks to her father, Merida is learned in the ways of combat and his encouragement helped her become the expert marksman she is today. Give her a bow and arrows and she will be disabling robots and disarming soldiers in no time. Plus Bow would enjoy having a fellow archer in the Best Friend Squad.

8 Stay Home: Aurora

Aurora about to touch the spindle in Disney's Sleeping Beauty.

Better known as Sleeping Beauty, Aurora is a pretty forgettable princess. Compared to her more memorable antagonist Maleficent, Aurora doesn't have a lot of qualities that could be used in battle. She was hidden away in the forest and raised by fairies wanting nothing more to reunite with the mysterious man she met in the forest.

Given how easily she succumbed to pricking herself on the spinning wheel, Aurora just doesn't have what it takes to fight alongside Perfuma and Glimmer.

7 Belong: Rapunzel

At first glance Rapunzel looks like she would be more of a hindrance when luscious locks get tangled, pun not intended, or at least become a tripping hazard to everyone. Rapunzel has proven in Tangled and Tangled: The Series her hair has a variety of uses. She can use it as to whip, lasso, swing over gaps, tie up enemies, and even heal the injured. She's also handy with a frying pan if she can't use her hair and she's learned from experience not to trust manipulators like Shadow Weaver. If anything she's likely to take out some aggression after everything Mother Gothel did to her.

6 Stay Home: Cinderella

Disney's Cinderella sparkling

Much like Rapunzel, Cinderella is a girl with grand, ambitious dreams. It's too bad that she rarely takes initiative to achieve said dreams. Keep in mind that the mice made her dress, the Fairy Godmother granted her a new dress and coach, the Prince sought her out, and the mice helped her escape.

While the straight to DVD sequels have shown her in a more active role, she lacks the skills needed to go on missions or handle herself in a fight. Besides, she already dealt with one evil stepmother; the last thing she needs is to run into Shadow Weaver.

5 Belong: Mulan

If any princess is fit for war, it's Mulan. She is the only princess on this list that has fought in a war and trained in martial arts. Much like a pre-serum Captain America, she works smarter than harder. If she isn't fighting Horde soldiers directly she would be strategizing with the other princesses on the perfect plan of attack. Of course, the Princess Alliance has a bad habit of their plans falling apart but much like She-Ra, Mulan is capable of improvising. For the Horde's sake, she better not get her hands on any fireworks.

4 Stay Home: Belle

Belle is a kind, selfless bookworm that has much in common with Entrapta, excluding age. That being said, she doesn't have much else to offer the Princess Rebellion. As a researcher, she could study the history of Etheria and try to uncover the secrets behind She-Ra but she isn't as gifted as her inventor of a father.

More often than not she winds up being imprisoned by the likes of the Beast or Gaston and winds up in need of rescuing. At the very least she could help Catra with her anger issues and insecurities.

3 Belong: Jasmine

While Jasmine is one of the more recognizable Disney princesses, she's often overlooked as just the love interest in Aladdin. People tend to forget how she ran away from home and picked up skills rather easily like she when she pole vaults across the rooftops. Her crowning achievements were in the often forgotten Aladdin: The Series. Even without powers or training she learned how to fight and played a pivotal role in aiding Aladdin on his adventures. With some proper training, she could prove to be a competent warrior. Maybe Huntara could teach her a few moves.

2 Stay Home: Tiana

Princess and the frog Tiana

There's no denying that Tiana works just as hard, if not harder than any of the other princesses to achieve her dream. She is a determined, ambitious young woman who survived hazardous swamps and defeated Dr. Facilier as a frog. With the right training, she could earn a spot in the rebellion but as is she is just an incredible chef with an unbreakable spirit. Though her cooking would undeniably keep morale at an all-time high.

1 Belong: Moana

If there's one word that describes Moana of Motonui it's fearless. She dared to cross the ocean to return the heart of Te Fiti, kept Heihei alive, ventured into Lalatoi, and faced Te Ka to save her people. Not only that but she is an experienced voyager and an agile climber who has outsmarted the likes of Maui and Tamatoa. Her combat skills need work but she's proven herself in battle against the Kakamora coconut pirates. There's not a single reason why she doesn't deserve a spot in the Princess Rebellion fighting.
