Disney+ promises that subscribers will soon be able to watch the whole Defenders Saga in 4K.

When a Twitter user asked Disney+'s official customer support account about the possibility of getting the shows in Ultra HD, the streaming service confirmed the option was in the works. The series are currently only available in standard and high definition due to making "this highly-anticipated content available to Disney+ subscribers ASAP." The official account explained that "UHD versions will be available soon."

Subscribers to Disney+ will find a new dedicated “Defenders Saga” hub which houses Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher and The Defenders; The shows were all previously available on Netflix. The grounded, gritty series all occupied a complicated space that saw them make occasional references to the events of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies but were never mentioned by the films themselves. This made their status in the MCU difficult to define until 2018 when any future seasons were canceled and they were confirmed as not being canon.

After the cancelation, Disney launched its own streaming service and started producing its in-canon Marvel shows, such as WandaVision, Loki and Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Vincent D'Onofrio, who originally played Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in Daredevil, stunned fans by reprising the role in Hawkeye. The actor suggested in an interview that Disney+ directly lead to Daredevil's cancellation, saying "We understood what Marvel was doing because Disney+ [was] coming out. When you're in this business a long time like we have all been, it kind of made sense business-wise."

Recent reports suggest that there might yet still be life in the beloved Daredevil series. Following Matt Murdock's cameo appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter Parker's lawyer, Marvel Studios is supposedly developing a reboot of the Charlie Cox-led series. The actor believes that his appearance in the MCU will not be a one-off. "I think at this point I expect to be involved [in the MCU] in some capacity, otherwise it'd be a bit of a weird one-scene moment," Cox said. The rumored reboot does not yet have a release date.

The Defenders Saga and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are now available to stream on Disney+.
