The Defenders on Disney+ seems to be missing its post-credits teaser for The Punisher.

When the show originally aired on Netflix, The Defenders featured a teaser trailer for The Punisher as its post-credits scene. The trailer saw Frank Castle/Punisher (Jon Bernthal) using a sledgehammer to smash his logo into concrete while revealing footage from the show. As Twitter user Ian Cardona notes, that teaser for The Punisher no longer appears at the end of The Defenders. CBR has verified that this change was made in both the Canadian and American markets.

Marvel's TV shows on Netflix began with Daredevil in 2015. The series in the streamer's line-up generally focused on street-level heroes, which resulted in shows focusing on Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Punisher. Netflix's Marvel shows crossed over in The Defenders, which released in 2017 and saw the titular group taking on The Hand.

Despite the majority of Netflix Marvel series being met with positive reception, the streamer canceled all of the shows beginning with Iron Fist in 2018. All of those other series were subsequently canceled.

Bernthal's Castle was originally introduced in Daredevil Season 2. His solo series ran for two seasons and focused on him attempting to brutally fight crime in New York City so as to avenge his murdered family. The first season ofThe Punisher holds 67 percent on Rotten Tomatoes among critics, while the second fared a little worse at 61 percent on the review aggregator.

At this time, it's not clear just how canon the Netflix Marvel shows are to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio have, since the cancelation of Daredevil, reprised their roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, respectively, in the MCU. However, there's no clear indication that they're not playing different versions of the same character. A post to Marvel.com did seemingly confirm the Murdock in Daredevil was the exact one who appeared in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, but that story was subsequently altered to remove that reference.

The Defenders and The Punisher are available to stream now alongside all of the other Marvel shows that originally released on Netflix.
