With Disney+ chock full of nostalgic content from across the Mouse House's extensive history, the streaming platform is keen to deliver even more original content to its subscribers. Now another future adaptation of a beloved classic has been named: Peter Pan and Wendy.

The movie will be the latest addition to Disney's growing live-action versions of its classic animations, and according to The Illuminerdi, the company is currently in the process of casting the movie's core child characters: Peter Pan, Wendy, John Darling and Michael Darling. Principal photography is expected to last from April-August in Canada and the project will be directed by David Lowery, who helped bring Pete's Dragon to life.

The breakdown for each character is as follows:

Peter Pan – 10 to 14 years – The boy who will never grow up. An enchanted child that's a confident and courageous warrior, with and without a sword. Lead Role.

Wendy – 12 to 14 years – A sly girl, full of good-natured energy, who is conflicted by her pending departure to boarding school. She is not quite ready to step into the adult world. Lead Role.

John Darling – 9 to 11 years – A budding child with an old soul. However, the mature youth is not above playfully fencing and rough-housing with his brother and sister. Lead Role.

Michael Darling – 6 to 9 years – A delightful child rarely seen without his closest friend, his teddy bear. Lead Role.

Given how previous live-action adaptations of these stories have hewn closely to the same story, with minor deviances and additions here and there, it is probably safe to assume the core story will mirror the original animation, which is itself based on J.M. Barrie's novel and play.
