REPORT: Disney+'s Moon Knight Casting Requirements Surface


In August, it was announced that the fan-favorite Marvel antihero Moon Knight would receive his own series on the upcoming Disney+ streaming service. However, while there have been no official casting announcements made as of yet, an interesting requirement to play the titular character has supposedly surfaced.

According to Geeks WorldWide, Marvel Studios is allegedly looking for a Jewish "Zac Efron-type" actor to play Moon Knight, with said actor preferably being of Israeli heritage. As Moon Knight himself is Jewish, it makes sense Marvel would want to cast a Jewish actor in order to stay faithful to the source material. However, nothing has been confirmed about this supposed requirement.

Debuting in 1975's Werewolf by Night #32, Moon Knight has had a long history in the Marvel Universe, from battling the eponymous werewolf in his introductory storyline to serving as a member of the West Coast Avengers for a time.

Moon Knight will be joined on Disney+ by She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel in their own respective shows.

Disney+'s Moon Knight series has yet to receive a release date.
