Disney+ has revealed exactly where Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania lands on the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline.

Per The Direct, the streaming service has placed Quantumania after The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special in its Marvel Studios section called, "Marvel Cinematic Universe in Timeline Order," meaning that the 2023 superhero blockbuster takes place after the events of every other MCU film and series. With both Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law set in 2025, it stands to reason that the events of The GOTG Holiday Special take place during Christmas 2025. This means that Quantumania is set between December 2025 and July 2026. The latter date is the month Cassie Lang would turn 19, so, since director Peyton Reed has gone on the record saying that Cassie is 18 in the threequel, the events of Quantumania must occur in the first six months of 2026.

The Disney+ MCU in Timeline Order category showing Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as the most "recent" movie in the MCU.

Set roughly two years after the events of 2019's Avengers: Endgame, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania follows Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne/The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) as they are accidentally sucked into the Quantum Realm with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Newton). Searching for a way home, the pint-sized heroes embark on an adventure that will push them beyond their limits and pit them against Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors).

Quantumania Underperformed at the Box Office

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania opened in theaters on Feb. 17. Despite a strong opening weekend of $106 million domestically, the superhero threequel suffered to maintain any momentum, suffering a massive 69.7 percent drop between its first and second weekends. Quantumania ultimately finished its theatrical run with a global gross of $476 million, which was unfortunately not enough to save it from becoming the first post-pandemic MCU film to lose money at the box office.

What's Next for Kang the Conqueror?

Kang the Conqueror is set to be the overarching antagonist of The Multiverse Saga, filling a similar role Thanos played across The Infinity Saga. Marvel has already confirmed that the next Kang appearance will be in Loki Season 2, with Majors portraying a new Kang variant known as Victor Timely. Beyond that show, Kang is expected to be the main villain of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, with Majors currently embroiled in assault allegations, it remains to be seen whether Marvel will recast the character or continue with the actor in the role.
