With Marvel Studios' announced projects for Disney+ now into pre-production, the studio is reportedly in negotiations with prolific television director Matt Shakman to helm one of its shows.

Shakman has previously directed episodes of Game of Thrones for HBO, over 40 episodes of the long-running FX sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and, more recently, an episode of the Amazon original television adaptation of The Boys.

While it is unknown which show Shakman is in talks to direct, the two projects that are reportedly the furthest along in pre-production are the Scarlet Witch-centric WandaVision and the upcoming Loki series.

WandaVision will see Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprise their Marvel Cinematic Universe roles as the Scarlet Witch and Vision while setting up the events of the upcoming film Doctor Strange in Multiverse of Madness. Principal photography on the series is expected to begin in the next several weeks. Meanwhile, Loki sees Tom Hiddleston reprise the title role, following the incarnation of his character who escaped custody with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. The show is expected to begin principal photography this January.
