Killian Scott -- known for his roles in Dublin Murders, Love/Hate, and Damnation -- may be set to be the newest member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the actor is reportedly in talks to board Marvel Studios' upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion.

According to Deadline, Scott is currently in negotiations to join the cast of Secret Invasion, which currently includes Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn -- who are reprising their roles as Nick Fury and Talos, respectively. Other cast members reportedly include Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman and Kingsley Ben-Adir. That said, details regarding Scott's prospective character are being kept under wraps.

Secret Invasion is based on a crossover arc originally published by Marvel Comics between 2008 and 2009. In the comic, several big-name superheroes -- including Iron Man, Mister Fantastic and Professor X -- join forces as a group called the Illuminati to confront the Skrulls, an alien race able to shapeshift. The event saw several superheroes replaced by Skrulls, causing uncertainty and suspicion among Marvel's heroes.

The Skrulls were introduced to the MCU in Captain Marvel, where they were revealed to be victims of Kree oppression -- the Kree being the alien race that Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel once claimed alliance to. This was a significant twist, as the Skrulls are often portrayed as villains in Marvel lore. Given their allied role to the Avengers, it is unclear how the events of Secret Invasion will be translated to the Disney+ series, though it may be safe to assume that the Skrulls may act in a similar capacity in replacing important characters. Notably, the Skrulls have made brief appearances in other MCU projects, such as Spider-Man: Far From Home and WandaVision -- impersonating other characters in both projects.
