A new promo for Marvel Studios' Loki tells fans to "expect the unexpected" when the series premieres on Disney+ on June 9.

The trailer was posted on Marvel Studios' Instagram page and features various shots of Tom Hiddleston's titular hero in action. "Mischief is unpredictable," it warns as the haunting music used for many of the teasers plays in the background.

Loki will follow an alternate version of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) character, who first appeared in Avengers: Endgame. After stealing the Tesseract from the 2012 versions of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, he used it to escape captivity. As for the "true" Loki, who viewers have been following since his debut in Thor, he died at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. The series also stars Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, a vital member of the TVA, Gugu Mbatha-Rawas Judge Renslayer and Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15.

Loki's death in Infinity War was technically the third time the character met his maker, after supposedly dying in both Thor and Thor: The Dark World. "At this point, I have learned that for me to have any expectations is futile and a fool's errand," Hiddleston said. "Having said goodbye to the character once, twice, three times, I do not know what the future holds. But I'm excited to find out. I think we could never have seen 10 years ahead."
