The Loki TV show has reportedly been renewed for a second season, even before it premieres on Disney+.

According to Production Weekly, Loki will reportedly start production in January 2022 on Season 2. It's unclear if this is a new renewal or if Loki was ordered to have two seasons from the get-go.

Plot details for Loki remain scarce. However, showrunner Michael Waldron has confirmed a handful of details, among these being that the show will be, much like Thor: Ragnarok, a sci-fi property and that Loki will have a crisis related to his identity throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

"I think it's the struggle with identity, who you are, who you want to be," Waldron previously said regarding what Loki would focus on. "I'm really drawn to characters who are fighting for control. Certainly you see that with Loki over the first ten years of movies, he's out of control at pivotal parts of his life, he was adopted and everything and that manifests itself through anger and spite towards his family."

Loki stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Sasha Lane, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Richard E. Grant. The series arrives on Disney+ in 2021.
