New set photos from Marvel Studios and Disney+'s Hawkeye offer a better look at Alaqua Cox's Maya Lopez/Echo.The photos feature Cox shooting scenes in Atlanta, GA while sporting what looks like the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Echo's superhero costume. Several of the shots also show her riding a motorcycle.
Created by David Mack and Joe Quesada, Echo debuted in 1999's Daredevil #9. The character is a Deaf Native American whose abilities allow her to mimic the movements of her opponents, much like the villainous Taskmaster. Shortly after Hawkeye began production, it was announced that Echo would feature in the series. Then, in late March, it was also reported that the character would headline her own Disney+ spinoff, though details remain scarce.
Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner reprising his role as Clint Barton, a role he first started playing in 2011's Thor. The series is expected to follow Clint as he trains Kate Bishop to become the new Hawkeye. The show is also expected to examine Clint's time as Ronin, the superhero identity he took during the events of Avengers: Endgame.
