Disney and Pixar's long-awaited Toy Story 4 has an official release date.

The fourth installment of the beloved film franchise will premiere June 21, 2019 -- just 14 and a half months away.

The announcement was made in a typically whimsical fashion from Disney in a post to Facebook via the official Toy Story account, by artists Kimmy Birdsell and Vincent Salvano. Take a look below:

Despite being slated to premiere in a little over a year, not much is known about Toy Story 4. With the presumed end of the franchise in 2010, the fourth installment has been plagued with a rotating door of behind-the-scenes exits.

While it was reported years ago that the film would not be a direct sequel but focus in on Woody and Bo Peep, the project has since had several writers and directors come and go. Originally, Pixar veteran John Lasseter was set to co-direct with Josh Cooley, with a script by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, but Lasseter, Jones and McCormack have since departed the project. Jones and McCormack cited a lack of diversity at the animation giant for the departure last November. Thor: Ragnarock writer Stephany Folsom has since taken over the script.

Toy Story 4 will be directed by Josh Cooley and is scheduled for a June 21, 2019 release. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are expected to return to their roles as Woody and Buzz Lightyear, respectively, but the full cast has yet to be announced.
