These new cast members join the previously announced Tom Hanks, who's playing Geppetto, and Luke Evans, who's playing the coachman that ferries Pinocchio and other young boys to Pleasure Island.

In December 2020, during the Disney Investor Day presentation, it was announced that Pinocchio would forgo a traditional theatrical release and instead premiere on Disney+.

Released in 1940, Pinocchio is based on the 1883 novel The Adventures of Pinocchio and centers on a puppet who's brought to life by the wish of the woodcarver who creates him after he wishes on a shooting star. With the help of his conscience, who comes in the form of Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio sets off on a quest to become a real boy.

Directed by Robert Zemeckis, Pinocchio stars Tom Hanks, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Luke Evans, Cynthia Erivo, Keegan-Michael Key and Lorraine Bracco. The film has yet to receive a release date.
