Disney invites viewers to have a fright and a laugh in the trailer for the Halloween special Muppets Haunted Mansion.

The trailer sees Will Arnett's Ghost Host invite Gonzo the Great and Pepé the King Prawn to spend the night in the titular house, knowing that failure to do so will mean staying in the mansion for all eternity. Along the way, the pair are haunted by ghosts resembling their Muppet coworkers playing the characters in the iconic Disneyland ride, as well as fabulous celebrity appearances from the likes of Taraji P. Henson, Darren Criss, Yvette Nicole Brown, John Stamos, and more (including the late Ed Asner.)

The Muppets Haunted Mansion special was first announced this past May, where it was described as "a terrifying tale of total scariness" that boasts "a star-studded Muppets cast, celebrity cameos, all-new music and spooky fun for families to enjoy together." In August, The Muppets Studios unveiled a shiny new logo, along with the promise of more content in the works starring the characters. Their most recent project was Muppets Now, an unscripted sketch show that premiered its first season on Disney+ in 2020.

Muppets Haunted Mansion will premiere Oct. 8 on Disney+.
