Disney plans on keeping up a busy release schedule over the next few years, and its updated calendar lays out its near-future plans for Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and other Disney and 20th Century movies.

Many of the entries here aren't new announcements, although the inclusion of The Boogeyman reflects the recent news that the Stephen King horror adaptation is moving from Hulu to a theatrical release. In common practice for Disney, the list includes several "untitled" movies which only specify what franchise they'll be part of. Starting in 2025, the majority of movies are untitled Marvel, Pixar or Disney projects, although Fantastic Four, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Avengers: Secret Wars, and the distant Avatar sequels are labeled.

Marvel Studios is still planning to release three to four movies per year, at least through 2026. This upcoming year actually has a smaller schedule, with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania coming out later in January, followed by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Marvels later in the year. 2024 will be busier, with Captain America: New World Order, Thunderbolts, the new Blade starring Mahershala Ali and Deadpool 3 in 2024.

What's Next for Star Wars, Pixar and 20th Century?

As for Lucasfilm's Star Wars franchise, the focus appears to be on producing content for Disney+. However, two untitled Star Wars movies are blocked out for December 2025 and December 2027. While details concerning these projects are scarce, two films have been appearing in reports over the last two years. These include Taika Waititi's Star Wars movie and the Rogue Squadron film from Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins.

Pixar will be releasing one to two movies per year over the near future. This includes Elemental later this year, a supernatural rom-com following a woman made of fire and a man made of water. Next year, Pixar will release Elio and Inside Out 2, with three more untitled movies planned for 2025-2026. Disney's animated, non-Pixar Wish comes out at the end of the year, and there's an untitled Disney animated film scheduled every November from 2024-2026.

A number of movies from Searchlight and 20th Century Studios are also on the schedule, including James Cameron's three Avatar sequels. Avatar 5 marks the furthest project on the list, as the only movie publicly scheduled for 2028.
