Development on the sequel to Disney's Hocus Pocus has kicked off, with plans to release it on the streaming platform Disney+.

According to Variety, Workaholics co-producer and writer Jen D’Angelo will pen the script for the sequel. There has been no confirmation yet as to whether the original cast will return, but Disney hopes to include them in the sequel.

Released in 1993, Hocus Pocus is a Halloween-centric fantasy comedy that stars Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker. After their accidental resurrection in the 20th century, three witches of Salem, Massachusetts continue their mischief, the while adapting to the idea that Halloween is now a holiday.

Hocus Pocus earned $39 million in the box office on a budget of $28 million. While the monetary success wasn't grand, the film went on to be a cult classic among Disney and Halloween fans alike.

Mick Garris and Neil Cuthbert wrote the script for Hocus Pocus, which is based on a story by Garris and David Kirschner. Kenny Ortega (High School Musical, Michael Jackson's This Is It) served as the director.

Disney+ launches  Nov. 12.
