The upcoming sequel to Hocus Pocus has landed a director, with Adam Shankman boarding the Disney+ film.

Variety revealed that Shankman, best known for his work on the films HairsprayStep Up and Rock of Ages, will help bring the follow-up to Disney's streaming service. The sequel to the cult classic Halloween film will pick up many years after the original 1993 film, but nothing else is known about the plot.

Though it's not official, Sarah Jessica Parker claimed that she, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy will reprise their roles as the Sanderson Sisters in the new movie. There's been no word on if the then-teen stars of the original film will also be back.

Shankman has a background in choreography, and his musical experience could indicate at least one number will feature in the new film. Though the first movie wasn't a musical, it did include a memorable performance from Midler, who sang "I Put a Spell on You."
