Of the original six Avengers, Hawkeye and Black Widow were the only members not to have their own films prior to being introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Black Widow recently received her own movie, Clint Barton is finally getting his time in the spotlight with his own Disney+ series. With Jeremy Renner reprising his role as the titular archer and introducing Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop, here is everything we know so far about Hawkeye.

Hawkeye's Story So Far

Clint Barton's Hawkeye was first introduced in Thor as an archer working on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D., and he later played a larger role in The Avengers, which alluded to a past with Black Widow that cemented the two as close friends. Fans would learn more about Hawkeye in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which revealed Clint had a wife, two kids and a baby on the way.

While he was retired after Age of Ultron, he came to help Captain America in Captain America: Civil War, leading to his house arrest. Because of this, he was not with the Avengers during Avengers: Infinity War's battle in Wakanda. Instead, he was at home with his family, and Clint could do nothing as they disappeared after the Snap. Out of grief, he would become Ronin, killing criminals who survived the Snap; however, he would team up with the Avengers again to try and bring back their loved ones in Avengers: Endgame. Thankfully, they were successful, and while Clint lost two close teammates, his family did return.

Hawkeye's Plot

Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfield as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Hawkeye will follow the team-up of Clint and Kate, who will become the new Hawkeye of the MCU. You can read the first synopsis below:

Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner reprising his role as Clint Barton, a role he first started playing in 2011's Thor. The series is expected to follow Clint as he trains Kate Bishop to become the new Hawkeye. The show is also expected to examine Clint's time as Ronin, the superhero identity he took during the events of Avengers: Endgame.

The casting announcement has also provided more insight into what the show will be about. Hawkeye will introduce Alaqua Cox's Maya Lopez, a.k.a. Echo, to the MCU, as well as William Lopez (Zahn McClarnon). Echo is another hero, and she can copy the movements of her opponents, and Disney+ is now developing a spinoff for her. The show will also bring in Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, who was introduced in Black Widow.

Furthermore, Fra Fee will be portraying Kazi, who he confirmed would be Kazimierz Kazimierczak, a.k.a. the Clown, on his instagram. Introduced in writer Matt Fraction and artist David Aja's Hawkeye, the Clown is a mercenary working for the Tracksuit Draculas, and he's got his eyes set on Clint. Along with him, the Tracksuit Draculas appear to be entering the picture based on set photos -- later confirmed in the trailer. The show will also feature Eleanor Bishop (Vera Farmiga), Kate's mother, who was falsely presumed dead in the comics. Finally, the casting announcement confirms Swordsman, Clint's former mentor, will be played by Tony Dalton.

Along with the human cast members, set photos confirm that the show will be pulling heavily from Fraction and Aja's comic run with the inclusion of the Hawkeyes' dog, Lucky -- a.k.a. Pizza Dog. Introduced in Issue #1, Lucky has impacted Kate and Clint's lives for the better, even helping them out in dire situations.

This September, the Hawkey trailer dropped, and with it, a new synopsis was also released, providing more details about how the Disney+ series is an unexpected holiday adventure in post-Blip New York City. Read the new synopsis below:
