Disney+ offered the slightest of hints about the planned DuckTales spinoff centered on Darkwing Duck.During a Disney+ Day announcement for the live-action/animated Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers movie, a script for Darkwing Duck could be spotted in the background that read, "Production Draft 2022."RELATED: Disney Boss Says Day-and-Date Releases Are Still On the Table for 2022

Created by Tad Stones, Darkwing Duck ran for three seasons on the Disney Channel and ABC between 1991-1992. The show centered on Drake Mallard, who was secretly the vigilante known as Darkwing Duck. The character returned to television screens for Disney+'s DuckTales reboot, and in November 2020, it was announced that Darkwing Duck would eventually get his own show again.

Darkwing Duck joined the cast DuckTales in Season 2 and went on to headline an hour-long special episode in Season 3 titled "Let's Get Dangerous!" This version of Darkwing Duck, however, was the star of a fictional television series. Drake Mallard, on the other hand, was the President of the Darkwing Duck Fan Club and eventually took of the mantle of Darkwing Duck in real life.

Disney+'s Darkwing Duck reboot has yet to receive a premiere date.
