Disney Courting Young Actors For Prime Role in 'Pirates of the Caribbean 5'

Disney wants a hot young actor to play the role of Henry in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Deadline reports the studio is eyeing at least six names: Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars), Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service), George Mackay (How I Live Now), Brenton Thwaites (The Giver), Mitchell Hope (Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS) and Sam Keeley (In The Heart of the Sea).

Whichever young man does take the role of Henry will join Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow and possibly Orlando Bloom, who teased a return to the franchise after bowing out of the previous installment On Stranger Tides. Javier Bardem is also in talks to play the film's bad guy.

Kon-Tiki helmers Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning are directing the film based on a script by Jeff Nathanson who also wrote Catch Me If You Can and Tower Heist. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is scheduled to hit theaters on July 7, 2017.
