Chip N’ Dale: Rescue Rangers was announced during Disney's Investor Day 2020 presentation, a four-hour event that unveiled all that Disney planned to offer in 2021 and beyond. The film will feature Mulaney as Chip and Samberg as Dale with a special, mysterious cameo by Seth Rogen.

There are no further details regarding Seth Rogen's character or the plot of the movie, but the film is expected to revive the iconic and original Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers show. The animated series ran from 1989-1990 and featured Chip and Dale as they launched a detective business called Rescue Rangers with their buddies Gadget Hackwrench, Monterey Jack and Zipper. The show lasted three seasons as the Rescue Rangers solved crimes and attempted to stay out of danger.

Directed by Akiva Schaffer, Chip N’ Dale: Rescue Rangers stars Andy Samberg, John Mulaney and Seth Rogen. The film arrives on Disney+ in spring 2022.
