In a time of fear and uncertainty due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, former Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger has offered some words of hope and encouragement."These are hard, anxiety provoking times," Iger shared on Twitter. "Remaining connected to friends & loved ones is vital. We owe it to each other to act cautious, adhere to guidelines, care for one another. Maintain hope and resolve." Cases of the coronavirus, or COVID-19, have been found in a multitude of countries around the world with virus-related deaths currently reaching over 6,500. In the United States alone, more than 3,700 people have been diagnosed with the virus.

The coronavirus outbreak has had a massive impact on the entertainment industry, causing the delays and cancellations of several events, including SXSW, the NCAA's March Madness, MLB Opening Day and more. Many recent film premieres also had to be rescheduled due to concerns about the virus.

During his time as CEO of Disney, Bob Iger oversaw many big moves for the company, including Disney's acquisition of Marvel Entertainment and the construction of Disneyland Shanghai. More recently, Iger was instrumental in helping close the deal that allowed Tom Holland's Spider-Man to stay within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
