Disney's Big Hero 6 Renewed for Season 3

Big Hero 6, the animated series based on the 2014 feature film of the same name, has been renewed for a third season by Disney.

The announcement comes less than a month before the premiere of the show's second season. Focusing on the team of young superheroes/scientists that protect the city of San Fransokyo, the series continues the story of the original film, with on Hiro (Ryan Potter) and his friends upgrading their tech and amplifying their skills to contend with rising threats.

The announcement of the third season also comes with a list of guest stars confirmed for Season2, including Nestor Carbonell, Isabella Gomez, Ben Feldman, Will Friedle, Jane Lynch and Timothy Simons. To celebrate the return, a series of shorts (animated in a style reminiscent of watercolors) will also begin to be released on Disney Channel, DisneyNOW and Disney Channel YouTube the day after the Season 2 premiere.

Big Hero 6, starring Ryan Potter, Jamie Chung, Genesis Rodriguez, Scott Adsit, Maya Rudolph, Alan Tudyk, Khary Payton, Brooks Whelan, Christy Carlson Romano, Andy Richter, Jenifer Lewis Haley Tju and Mara Wilson, returns for its second season on May 6.
