The first Disney+ Day was held in 2021 and brought with it footage from a handful of highly-anticipated productions including Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Obi-Wan Kenobi and various productions from Pixar and National Geographic. Despite the hype built around the new releases, many viewers were left wanting by the original event. Many fans complained that there wasn't enough new content shown off and were disappointed in the lack of high-profile announces.

While the official line-up is unknown, many fans are already speculating about what shows will take the spotlight during Disney+ Day 2022. In terms of Marvel Studios' offerings, enthusiasts of the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe speculate that Secret Invasion, I Am Groot and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special could make an appearance.

As for Lucasfilm's projects, fans of the Star Wars universe already have a solid idea of what series are in the works. As highlighted during Star Wars Celebration 2022, Disney+ will soon play host to The Mandalorian Season 3, The Bad Batch Season 2 and Tales of the Jedi, all of which are slated to premiere either around the same time as Disney+ Day or after the event. Andor, the prequel series to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will premiere before the digital showcase.

Beyond the highly-anticipated teases for various MCU and Star Wars projects, Disney+ Day will also see the release of the live-action Pinocchio movie. Based on the original 1940 animated film, the updated version of the classic story is directed by Robert Zemeckis and stars Tom Hanks as Geppetto, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Pinocchio, Cynthia Erivo as the Blue Fairy, Keegan-Michael Key as Honest John and Lorraine Bracco as Sofia the Seagull.

Disney+ Day will stream to viewers across the world on Sept. 8.
