Walt Disney Studios tweeted out the image, writing, "Check out the new logo for Raya and the Last Dragon, coming to theaters November 2020." The logo has a Southeast Asian feel with a stone motif and green color emulating a jade stone. The "R" resembles the shape of an ancient dragon.
The computer-animated film was announced on May 2018 as Dragon Empire, with story artists Paul Briggs and Dean Wellins directing. Later that year, it was announced Crazy Rich Asians scribe Adele Lim would replace Kiel Murray as the screenwriter, with Moana producer Osnat Shurer set to produce Disney's fifty-ninth animated film.
DisInsider describes the film as "combination of classic Disney and kung-fu movies. The film is set in a mysterious land called Kumandra. The region is split into five sections, and Raya is a warrior on the search for the last dragon in the world."
Raya and the Last Dragon will arrive in theaters on November 25, 2020. Degrassi alum Cassie Steele will voice Raya while Awkwafina will voice Sisu, the last dragon. The rest of the cast has yet to be announced.
