Disney and its streaming service Disney+ continues to pick up steam following a mountain of new announcements during Disney's Investor Day 2020 conference. The company's animation studio is making strides with four original series based on popular characters, as well as an entirely new animated series and upcoming theatrical release. Here's every recently announced project coming from Disney Animation.

Baymax!

Created by the original film’s director, Don Hall, Big Hero 6's inflatable marshmallow mascot is getting his own series on Disney+. Titled Baymax!, it will come to the streaming service in early 2022 and follow the titular nurse robot helping people around the city of San Fransokyo after the events of Big Hero 6.

Zootopia+

Disney Animation's award-winning detective movie, Zootopia, is also set to get its own series on the service in Spring 2022. Zootopia+ be comprised of bite-sized vignettes, spinning off with a new focus on supporting characters from the original film.

In addition to the return of Flash the sloth and other fan-favorites, the backup dancers of pop music sensation Gazelle will be featured in a competition, So You Think You Can Prance, while the newlywed Fru Fru the arctic shrew will star in the the reality show The Real Housewives of Little Rodentia.

Tiana

Debuting on Disney+ in 2023, Tiana continues the story of 2009's The Princess and the Frog in a new musical-comedy series. The film ended with Tiana marrying Naveen, the prince of Maldonia, while also becoming the owner of her own restaurant, fulfilling her childhood dream. The series will finally show fans what happens afterwards.

Moana

Alongside Tiana, Moana will also get her own long-form animated series on Disney+ in 2023. Set after the 2016 film, the show -- a musical, as well -- will follow Moana on a new set of adventures after becoming chieftain and wayfinder of her tribe.

Iwájú

A collaboration with comic book entertainment company Kugali Media, Disney Animation's next entirely original IP, Iwájú, will premiere in 2022 on Disney+. Set in Lagos, Nigeria, the science-fiction series will tackle themes of "class, innocence and challenging the status quo." The show’s title roughly translates to "the future."

Encanto

Following up the hybrid theatrical and premium on demand release of Raya and the Last Dragon in March 2021 is Disney Animation's next theatrical feature, Encanto, is slated for release on November 24, 2021. Directed by Zootopia's Byron Howard and Jared Bush and co-directed and co-written by Charise Castro Smith, the studio's 60th animated film will explore Colombia with an original set of songs from Hamilton and Moana composer Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The official description teases "the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto." It tells the story of Mirabel, the only non-magical child in her family, who upon discovering Enchanto's magic is in danger, becomes her family's "last hope."
