High schooler Kasuo Saiki was born with a wide array of incredible superpowers, but they've only seemingly made his life worse in the comedy manga series The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.

The anime adaptation of the property is getting a soft reboot this December from Netflix, retitled The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened, with a new trailer revealing the six-episode season's release date of Dec. 30.

The trailer reveals one of Saiki's control antennae getting damaged, causing his powers to go haywire -- from runaway x-ray vision, teleporting throughout the time stream outside of his control and reading the minds of those around him telepathically with no apparent filter.

Based on the hit manga series created by Shuichi Aso in 2012, the title was adapted into an anime series in 2016 that ran for two seasons and an extended concluding special, with an English dub produced by Funimation. The upcoming revival will feature the same voice cast and crew as the original anime series, which will be listed on Netflix as the fourth season.
