If anything can be said about Jurassic World: Dominion, it's that there are a lot of dinosaurs. Seeing these monstrous reptiles in motion can be both terrifying and captivating. Not only that, but the wide variety of dinosaurs on display in this particular installment could really pique someone's curiosity; it's enough to make one want to go to their nearest natural history museum and make a day out of the dinosaur exhibits. Anime fans might alternatively want to check out some dinosaur-related anime.

It turns out that there are plenty of anime that prominently feature dinosaurs for anybody wanting to scratch that particular itch. This isn't just about brief references to dinosaurs like in Pokémon or One Piece or even Darling in the Franxx. These works have dinosaurs as their central focus and make sure they find their way into every nook and cranny of the story. If anyone didn't leave Dominion completely satisfied by all the dinosaurs it featured, any of this should help to cap them off.

My Roomie is a Dino

Gal and Dino

This slice-of-life gag comedy, also known as Gal & Dino, has a basic premise. A gal named Kaede lives in an apartment with a roommate who turns out to be some sort of cartoon dinosaur; its art style is noticeably simple compared to everyone and everything around it. Despite how strange this anomaly is, even in universe, everyone is quick to accept it.

This series meets the bare minimum of having a dinosaur at its center. It won't teach viewers anything they didn't already know about dinosaurs; the main dinosaur doesn't even have a specific species. It's simply a dinosaur living in Japan.

With that said, the series is still an entertaining watch. Its absurdist humor is on par with Pop Team Epic, presumably because both anime were worked on by Kamikaze Douga. Besides this, it has genuinely heartwarming moments. Both of these aspects can put a smile on anybody's face.

My Girlfriend is a T-Rex

My Girlfriend is a T-Rex

The main premise of this series is anthropomorphic dinosaur girls. It's set in a world where dinosaurs are not only still alive, but they evolved to take on more human characteristics. Some of these dinosaurs, despite becoming more human, still retain their more primal instincts.

The story mainly follows Asahikawa Yūma and his T-Rex girlfriend Churio. The former is relatively mild-mannered, while the latter is a brash, prideful meathead who constantly thinks with her stomach. Their time together is cute, funny, and wholesome, though the story hardly makes them anything more than friends.

As for whether this story will satisfy the reader's needs, that depends on what they're looking for. If it's dinosaurs, this series should have just enough of them. However, it's primarily a romantic comedy with a moderate dinosaur aesthetic. Some dinosaur facts will also be sprinkled throughout the narrative to inform the dinosaur girls' choices and actions.

You Are Umasou

You Are Umasou

Where Wester audiences grew up with The Land Before Time, Japanese kids grew up on You are Umasou. This series follows Heart, a Tyrannosaurus who was raised as an herbivore by a Maiasaura. However, he slowly learns to realize the truth about his predatory lineage. As such, he sets out on a journey to find a balance between his carnivorous needs and his caring nature.

Despite being marketed toward kids, You Are Umasou can get pretty brutal. It features killing, maiming, dismemberment, and all sorts of violent acts. Heart even somehow learns martial arts, making him even more violent. This all ties into the natural world and its philosophy of survival of the fittest.

As for how well this satisfies dinosaur fans, it should definitely help. While the dinosaurs aren't always accurate to their real-life counterparts, there are over 20 species featured. It's the dinosaur aesthetic in its purest form.

Fossil Fighters

Fossil fighters Champions

Fossil Fighters is based on a Nintendo DS game of the same name. The goal of this series is to uncover dinosaur fossils, revive them into the supernatural "vivosaurs," and raise them to fight in battles. It's kind of like Pokémon but with dinosaurs.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to "read" Fossil Fighters, at least in the US. The Japanese spin-off manga has only had 15 of its 30 chapters officially translated; it's also the only manga to be officially translated at all. In reality, Fossil Fighters is best experienced through the game it originated from.

It's also important to remember that the "dinosaurs" featured in this series are actually vivosaurs. While there are over 100 of them, they were all deliberately designed to be offshoots of whatever species they were originally based on. If audiences can accept the extra research necessary to truly understand each species present, they should enjoy themselves.

Dinosaur King

Dinosaur King Max and Dino Saving Team

The series follows three kids as they set out on adventures to collect the cards of dinosaurs that have been scattered across the world. Standing in opposition to them is the Alpha Gang, a group from the future looking to take the cards for themselves and use them for evil. The two sides will often confront each other using the power of the dinosaurs within the very cards they're collecting.

Dinosaur King is another nostalgic monster-collecting show that aired on 4Kids in the mid-2000s. It seems to borrow elements of other popular monster-collecting series from the time, including Pokémon, Digimon, and Yu-Gi-Oh! Its only distinguishing feature is that its premise revolves exclusively around dinosaurs.

This series tries its hardest to depict its dinosaurs as accurately as possible. That is to say, they have their real-world counterparts' precise looks and names. They inevitably gain supernatural powers, but they're still respectable depictions.
