Digital Manga selects Diamond for distribution

Official Press Release

Digital Manga has selected Diamond Book Distributors as the exclusive North American distributor of English-language editions of some of its top books to bookstore, comic store, library, hobby, gaming, warehouse, and mass merchandising markets.

Digital Manga specializes in building corporate and cultural bridges from Japan to the Western Hemisphere - specifically through the licensing, importation and preparation of anime, manga, and related merchandise for the North American mainstream and subculture markets. In this capacity, DMI serves as a catalyst for the expansion of Japanese pop-culture institutions into global arenas. The titles made available to Western market through this new agreement are Ikebukuro West Gate Park (Volumes 1-3), Worst (Volumes 1-3), Only The Ring Finger Knows, Desire, and Passion (Volumes 1-2).

"Digital Manga has already been actively importing top-notch Japanese products into the U.S.", said Diamond Vice President of Purchasing Bill Schanes. "We're proud that when Digital Manga was looking for an outlet for some of its top properties - titles that examine and explore issues like teen violence, adolescent romance, and homosexuality - that they came to Diamond."

"We're excited to be doing business with Diamond! Their experience and confidence in the comic industry is second to no one, and I'm positive they will be able to use that strength to do right by Digital Manga Publishing," said Hikaru Sasahara, President of Digital Manga.

"With manga and related Japanese products and art continuing to make sales history through the U.S., this is a great opportunity to introduce a new piece of the diversity puzzle," added Schanes.

Diamond's Sales Team will begin working with bookstores, book wholesalers, warehouse clubs, mass merchandisers, and libraries to place Overdue Media's books across the country.
