The world of anime is filled with all sorts of powerful characters. These characters make a series exciting all by themselves. A powerful protagonist makes the series interesting, but what really makes the series worthwhile is a powerful antagonist.
One such character is Diavolo from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. He is the main antagonist of the series and he boasts of some incredible abilities. Diavolo's stand, King Crimson allows him to skip time and he can also see into the future. In this list, we will be discussing five anime characters who can beat Diavolo and five who can't.
10 Can Defeat: Giorno Giovanna
Giorno Giovanna is the main protagonist of JJBA: Golden Wind. He has a dream of becoming an ideal gangster. Giorno wanted to bring down Diavolo, who was the boss of Passione. However, in order to beat Diavolo, Giorno needed to improve his stand somehow. The upgrade was made possible after Polnareff came out with the arrow.
The arrow turned Gold Experience into Gold Experience Requiem. This was more than enough to beat Diavolo. Giorno's stand is able to act on its own and thus, Giorno doesn't need to be attentive all the time. Giorno is actually responsible for the killing of Diavolo.
9 Can't Defeat: Sunny
Sunny is one of the four Gourmet Kings. He is one of the strongest characters in Toriko. Sunny is very proud of his hair and why wouldn't he be considering that it is his biggest weapon. Sunny's is considered to be "unbeatable" when he activates his "Dining Kitchen." The outcome of this fight would depend on who is able to land the first hit. Both Sunny and Diavolo specialize in close combat.
Sunny can fully utilize his senors when the target is within a close range. Similarly, Diavolo's King Crimson is a short-ranged stand, but Diavolo's special abilities give him an extra edge in this fight.
8 Can Defeat: Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke Uchiha is Naruto's rival. He is the second strongest shinobi of all time. Sasuke's strength increased a lot after the Fourth Great Ninja War ended. Sasuke gained a unique Rinnegan that granted him unique powers. With his Rinnegan, Sasuke can move easily through dimensions and he can also swap places with objects or people. Sasuke is also able to move at light speed and he even has an impenetrable defense in the form of Susanoo.
Adding to this, Sasuke can copy the moves of opponents with his Sharingan. With all these things at Sasuke's disposal, it is clear that has superfluous abilities that would help him to get rid of Diavolo.
7 Can't Defeat: Thorfinn
Thorfinn is the main protagonist of Vinland Saga. He is the son of Thors, who was considered to be a legendary warrior. Thorfinn was continuously dueling Askeladd in order to avenge his father, who killed by Askeladd in an unfair manner. Thorfinn is nimble and he can match most of his opponents, but Diavolo would easily defeat Thorfinn in a fight.
Diavolo's ability— Epitaph would easily allow him to dodge all of Thorfinn's attacks. Thorfinn can resort to knife throwing but that won't be enough to beat someone of Diavolo's caliber.
6 Can Defeat: Escanor
Escanor is one of the members of the Seven Deadly Sins. He is the last member to be introduced in the series. Escanor's strength depends on the time of the day it is. He is at the peak of his power when the time is 12:00. From 12:00 to 12:01, he has an invincible form known as "The One." In this form, not a lot of characters can match his strength.
Escanor has proven to knock out the strongest of characters within a short period of time due to his immense strength. While Diavolo does have the ability to see the future and skip time, his attacks won't be able to do any damage to Escanor(unless it's after the sun sets). Escanor can defeat Diavolo with just one attack.
5 Can't Defeat: Todoroki
Todoroki is the son of Endeavor, who is the top-ranked hero. Todoroki has two special abilities. He is able to control ice and fire. Todoroki is pretty clever too so it would take a lot of effort to outfox him. However, Diavolo has the necessary weapons to bring him down. Diavolo is almost invincible due to his "Epitaph".
Diavolo is always one step ahead of his opponents with his ability. Todoroki will have a very tough time-fighting Diavolo. Diavolo will come out as the winner in this fight.
4 Can Defeat: Jiren
Jiren was the person to beat at the Tournament of Power. He was easily beating anyone who dared to fight him during the Tournament of Power. The difference between the strength of Jiren and the other fighters was just surprising.
Fighters such as Hit, Goku, Vegeta, etcetera. were having a tough time to beat Jiren. It was only after Goku managed to achieve Ultra Instinct that Jiren was tested. Jiren's strength rivaled that of a God of Destruction and it is fairly obvious that Jiren would turn Diavolo into mincemeat without any problem.
3 Can't Defeat: Sabo
Next up on our list is Sabo from One Piece. Sabo is Luffy's elder brother. Sabo has extremely strong Haki and it's not a wonder considering he was trained by the Revolutionary Army. Sabo also possesses the power of the Mera Mera no Mi, which allows him to manipulate fire at will.
Sabo can cause some serious damage to Diavolo if he's not careful. However, Diavolo would very likely win due to his insane abilities. He can see the future and he can even skip time.
2 Can Defeat: Tatsumaki
Tatsumaki is a character from One Punch Man. She is an esper and there is no one that can rival her strength. She is ranked as No. 2 S-class hero. She is capable of beating the strongest of monsters and aliens with her abilities. Tatsumaki possesses incredibly powerful psychic abilities. She has a very long range which means that she can fight him without coming close to him.
Diavolo would have to find a way to get closer to her. Tatsumaki is the worst possible match for Diavolo as she can fight him without coming in his range.
1 Can't Defeat: Guts
The final character on the list is Guts. Guts is the main character from Kentaro Miura's Berserk. Ever since the apocalypse, Guts has grown a lot in strength and he has been hunting down apostles.
Guts is capable of taking several hits, but he's still a human and he will take serious damage from Diavolo's attacks. Guts cannot cope up with the speed of King Crimson nor can he dodge the attacks of King Crimson. This should be an easy victory for Diavolo.
