This is what Zack Snyder has reduced us all to. The Man of Steel director is maintaining a tight veil of secrecy around his upcoming Superman reboot, so much so that even the actors haven't been permitted to read through the script during the casting process. Not that he isn't justified. We consumers of Internet media are a fairly insane bunch, collectively. The less we know on most things, the better.

That normally doesn't turn out to be the case, of course, but it certainly has with Man of Steel. We're grasping at scraps here. The latest scrap comes from Diane Lane, who was recently cast as Martha Kent in the 2012 release. Speaking in an interview with E! Online, she drops what can definitely be seen as a tiny plot spoiler.

Or, to anyone who's been paying attention, something we already pretty much knew to be true anyway.

"I read the script under lock and key," she said. "I was locked in a room with the script and was only allowed three hours with it. I nailed it into my memory. I'm really excited. I'm really not allowed to talk much about it, I think, but it does cover the entire range of years, from infancy on."

So we'll see baby Supes and then we'll see grown-up Supes, and possibly a little adolescent Supes in between. Did anyone expect otherwise?
