Diamond Announces Free Comic Book Day Titles

While DC Comics were first out the gate to declare their signature release for next year's annual Free Comic Book Day promotion with "War of the Supermen" #0, today Diamond Distributors announced its Gold Sponsor offerings for the event. Coordinated each year as an outreach to new readers, Free Comic Book Day sees North American publishers dolling out sample issues of their line for potential new readers and dedicated fans alike. The Gold Sponsors are selected in part by a committee of retailers selected by Diamond.

Diamond's FCBD site revealed that this year's Gold Sponsors include the following comics listed by publisher:

While some of the titles are obvious extensions of current publishing plans, many new project announcements are inherent in the list including an IDW continuation of Larry Hama's original "G.I. Joe" continuity from the end of the Marvel series, the first official offering in Dark Horse and Jim Shooter's anticipated reboot of the Gold Key superheroes and Ape Entertainment offering a "Shrek" series of comics.
