Diamond Comic Distributors announced it will allow comic book retailers to put their accounts on hold as they adapt to changing business practices due to coronavirus (COVID-19). In a letter from Geppi Family Enterprises President Stan Heidmann, Diamond detailed how it will be providing relief to retailers.

"If you are in an area where your store will be closing or significantly impacted, you may contact Retailer Services and request that your account be placed on hold until you're ready to begin receiving product again," the statement reads. "You can also request a different delivery address, should that be necessary at some point."

Diamond also updated stores on cleaning policies being made to its distribution centers, the Hunt Valley, MD office operating at minimal staff starting March 18, and discussing local closures and interruptions.

In other news, Free Comic Book Day 2020 is now Free Comic Book May, a month-long event that attempts to accommodate stores that may wish to distribute books to customers in smaller groups versus a crowded all-day affair.

Many cities have forced businesses to close for an extended period of time, including movie theaters, bars, restaurants and night clubs over coronavirus.
