The Boys Presents: Diabolical dropped a new gore-filled teaser trailer and revealed the series' premiere date, March 4.

The new animated series is set in the same world as Prime Video's popular superhero series. The trailer offers a quick look at one of the anthology series' shorts, Laser Baby, which features a colorful style reminiscent of classic Warner Bros. cartoons such as Looney Tunes or Animaniacs. The preview quickly makes it clear that The Boys' trademark grit and hyper violence has made the transition to animation intact, as the titular laser baby uses its powers to a team of soldiers into a pile of organ donations.

The new trailer was released as part of Prime Video's Fanimation week, which highlights the streaming service's more adult-oriented animated offerings. The event is also promising to feature another look at upcoming series, The Legend of Vox Machina, which is an animated adaptation of a role-playing game campaign that was played through by the popular web series Critical Role. The virtual event will also host a watch parties for Prime Video's other gritty superhero series, Invincible, and the biggest anime exclusive on Amazon's streaming service, Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon A Time.

The new spinoff series was originally announced during Prime Video's 2021 virtual Comic-Con panel. The show will feature a number of 12 - 15 minute long shorts that explore parts of The Boys' universe that haven't been seen in the main series. The series features a star-studded lineup of writers, including series co-creator Garth Ennis, Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, Awkwafina, Eliot and Ilana Glazer, Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen, Simon Racioppa, Ben Bayouth, Andy Samberg and Aisha Tyler.

Diabolic isn't the only spinoff in the works, as Amazon is also planning to expand The Boys franchise further with another new series. This as-yet-untitled series will be set on a college campus run by Vought Industries. The new spinoff was originally announced in 2020 and has yet to reveal its cast, crew or final premiere date. The new show will feature a team of supes in training and is described as "Part college show, part Hunger Games -- with all the heart, satire and raunch of The Boys."

Season 1 and 2 of The Boys are now available for streaming on Prime Video, with Season 3 set to debut on June 3.
