A brand-new teaser for the upcoming Dexter revival reveals what Dexter Morgan's new name and job will be on the new series. At the end of the original series, Dexter's sister, Debra, was left brain dead after a blood clot following a surgery. The hospital was evacuated for an impending hurricane, so Dexter took advantage of the confusion to take his sister off of life support and abscond with her body. He then took Deb on to his boat and piloted it into the hurricane, seemingly dying by suicide. However, we then discover that he somehow survived and is now living in Oregon and working for a lumber company. He will now go by the name Jim Lindsay and he is working as a sales associate for a fish and game company.

In the original series, Dexter worked as a forensic blood spatter analyst for the Miami-Metro Police Departments's criminal investigative unit. The only name he went by was Dexter Morgan, so he did not technically have a secret identity, as his killings were all done secretly so he did not have to disguise his name. In fact, Dexter typically planned his killings out so well that he didn't even disguise himself at all, since he knew his victims would never get the opportunity to identify him to anyone.

Working for the police department, Dexter was able to keep ahead of the very people who were trying to track him down, so he is much more exposed in his new setup, using a new identity. However, working for a fish and game company will also give him access to a lot of weapons and tools that he could use for killing people in fresh and original ways in the new series.

At the very least, fans will be pleased to learn that Dexter is no longer a jumberjack.

Created by Clyde Phillips, Dexter stars Michael C. Hall, Clancy Brown, Julia Jones, Alano Miller, Jamie Chung, Johnny Sequoyah and Jack Alcott. Showtime's revival series has yet to receive a premiere date.
